Congress provided a space for sharing and exchanging knowledge and experiences about digital competencies from different professional and territorial perspectives, to help develop a digitally empowered citizenry.
This initiative was organized by the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona Activa - Cibernàrium of the Barcelona City Council and the UOC's Digital Skills Area , in collaboration with the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation. and Eurecat (Technological Center of Catalonia).
The event revolved around the definition of digital competencies , which are understood as the set of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to relate, live and coexist in digital society in order to equip people with 'tools to collaborate, communicate, share, inform, create content and disseminate information in a digital environment in an effective, secure, critical and civic way .
The Digital Skills Map
The UOC presented the creation of the Digital Skills Map , a useful tool for promoting the improvement and development of digital competences that are available to the public. will close the first version during Q1 2020.
It will close the first version during the 1st quarter of 2020 and it has a dual purpose :
- To place the digital citizen in their digital competences so that they can determine where they are and can define the way to become fully digital within the context of Catalan society.
- Promote the improvement of the learning and the way of achieving these competencies by guiding the institutions to define the training offer and the processes of accreditation of competencies needed to become a participative, active and transformative citizenry.
