The twelfth edition of the DonaTIC Awards has reached the highest number since its creation with the presentation of 134 proposals from the Barcelona region, 13 from Girona, 12 from Tarragona and 5 from Lleida.

Last March, the Secretariat for Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya launched the twelfth edition of the DonaTIC Awards . The aim of these awards, which are part of the DonaTIC Plan of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is to highlight and recognise the role and talent of women in the professional, business and academic world of digital technologies, as well as to offer new contemporary female role models, promote vocations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and encourage the presence of women in technology and engineering studies. Last April, the deadline for submitting applications ended. After counting, a total of 164 proposals were received, breaking the participation record, registering an increase of 86% compared to the eleventh edition of the DonaTIC Awards, with the presentation of 76 more applications. Likewise, the twelfth edition of the DonaTIC Awards has reached the highest number since its creation in 2015. Consequently, over the years, the awards have accumulated a total of 1,109 candidacies and are consolidated as the main institutional initiative in all of Catalonia to make women in the technology sector visible.

The candidacies submitted come from all over Catalonia and are distributed in 134 proposals from Barcelona, 13 proposals from Girona, 12 proposals from Tarragona and 5 proposals from Lleida. In this sense, the DonaTIC Awards 2026 offer twelve distinctions, which are distributed in eight categories grouped into three areas: the professional area, the academic and revelation area, and the area of dissemination and reference initiatives. Specifically, the ICT Student category, which includes the categories University ICT Student , Vocational Training ICT Student , ICT Student for requalification and/or improvement of skills and Doctoral ICT Student , has received 34 proposals. Next, the Professional category has received 28 candidacies, the Entrepreneur category, 22 candidacies and the Dissemination category, 20 candidacies. Along these lines, the Reference Initiatives category, which includes the categories Reference Business Initiative and Reference Initiative Entity, Training Center or Institution , has received 19 proposals. Next, the DonaTIC Revelation category has received 18 nominations, the Academic/Researcher category, 12 nominations and the Entrepreneur category, 11 nominations. On Monday, October 19, the awards ceremony for the twelfth edition of the DonaTIC Awards will be held at the Palau de la Música Catalana.
