Why programming and mobile devices?
There is a growing need for digital skills in all jobs where digital technology is a key element in completing the tasks. In the near future, 90% of jobs across all sectors will require a certain level of digital skills.
The program is a way to teach algorithmic and computational thinking and a catalyst of thought that combines creativity with structured approach, efficiency and capacity planning.
The effective use of mobile devices like smartphones and tablets can greatly enhance the learning and personal development, social skills, connectivity, and ultimately the ability to find a good job. And yes, we also want to learn to write applications for mobile devices!
Who can participate?
We will develop and deliver a training program combined three months for a group of 20 facilitators (five people from Belgium, Croatia, Hungary and Spain, respectively), which later will be the end users in terms of programming and device usage phones. As for end users, the target group are unemployed young people, with a special focus towards those who are not attending formal education or are unemployed. Our aim is to involve at least 60 young people, 15 to each of the four countries.
What is the purpose of the study?
In the coming months we will develop the training program for both facilitators and trainers as young students. With the help of this survey we would like to know your experiences in matters of programming and use of mobile as a mobilizer or trainer. We would also like to know your learning needs, interests specific opinion on how the training should be structured, and ultimately, the possible interest in participating in the experience CodeMob.
If you're interested, please respond to this survey before 31 January 2016.
CodeMob is a project of Telecentre-Europe in collaboration with El Teb and ICT Network Point, Interface 3 , Foundation for Community Network , Telecentre and Technical University of Dortmund , with the support of the European Union through the Erasmus + Programme, Key Action 2: Strategic Partnerships. Some project participants can attend classroom training of five days duration, organized in September 2016 in Croatia.
See you there!
