SETEM Catalunya, with the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Barcelona, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Agència Catalana de Cooperació al Desenvolupament and Som Connexió, is preparing the celebration of the Mobile Social Congress 2024. Under the title ‘High tech, low rights: quin cost real té la tecnologia que consumin?’, the ninth edition of the event will take place from February 27 to March 2 in the city of Barcelona and online and will reflect on the impacts of the industry from different areas. The activities of the Mobile Social Congress 2024, including a live podcast, round tables, presentations and children's games, will be open to all citizens.
Firstly, on Tuesday 27 February, from 7.30 to 9 p.m., at Paral·lel 62, there will be a live recording of the 'Carne Cruda' podcast with a debate between experts and a musical performance by the Catalan punk group La Élite. Then, on Thursday 29 February, from 5.30 to 10 p.m., at Auditori Calàbria 66, several activities will be offered, such as, for example, the film forum 'Antes del litio' with Laura Fontana from the alterNativa, the presentation of the book 'Cobalt Red' with the professor Siddharth Kara, a monitoring of factories in China with Dimitri Kessler from the Economic Rights Institute and a round table on digital justice with Leandro Navarro from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Cori Crider from Foxglove and Sofia Trejo from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Then, on Saturday March 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Escola de les Aigües, children's games on responsible consumption and a round table on screens and children will be held with Mercè Botella from Som Connexió, Xavier Casanovas from the Plataforma Adolescència Lliure de Mòbils and the writer Sergi Onorato.
