El Teb is looking for young people who want to offer their views, be critical, stop being spectators and discover all the opportunities that technology offers. Volunteers have to be aged between 16 and 29 years old, wanted to learn how to do journalism, availability to participate in an international meeting in Croatia between July 8 and 14 and have an interest in refugee crisis in Europe. The travel expenses are covered by the project.
The project's goal is to teach young people how to use digital media to address important social problems. Theme focuses on the refugee crisis that is being debated in words European countries. Youth perspectives on e-migration is inspired by Humans of New York and other similar initiatives where digital photographers use language to tell stories and put a compelling human face social issues such as migration, unemployment and relationships.
We will select a group of eight people who meet these conditions:
- Have between 16 and 29 years
- Demonstrate a high level of engagement with the subject and the specific proposal.
- Attend four face meetings to be held in Barcelona during the month of June (timetable to negotiate with the group).
- Travel to Croatia on the dates indicated by the project.
- Perform online training and learning (Barcelona) with a duration of between 30 and 45 hours on digital photography, digital storytelling and journalism during the months of July, September and October.
- Participate in meetings to be held during the months of October to December.
- Be able to communicate in fluent English.
Priority is given to the young participants who live in neighborhoods and populations with special needs and those who are unemployed and not currently pursuing any study. Registration for this project is free. This project is funded by the European Union, and the cost of travel and meals are covered by the project in Croatia.
