Throughout the year, the creators of free software received many comments on how to improve your tool or requests for new features. Free Software Foundation Europe encourages people, at least once a year, to change the chip and send messages thanking for the work they perform. They seize on February 14, Valentine's Day, to do so. They explained that "we should not underestimate the power of a simple 'thank you' to motivate Free Software contributors in their important work for society. The 14th of February (a Tuesday this year) is the ideal day to do that".
The campaign #ilovefs offers a series of postcards that you can send to your favorite collaborators, thanking for their work. They also encourage people to use the hashtag #ilovefs in the social networks to share photos, videos... thanking.
From Free Software Foundation Europe take the opportunity to remind us of the benefits of free software: "Free Software drives a huge number of devices in our everyday life. It ensures our freedom, our security, civil rights, and privacy. It enables everyone to participate in a fair society."
