The Catalan Institute for Women is launching the creation of a search engine for professional women, academics and activists from different fields of knowledge, research and social action. The initiative aims to promote the presence and voice of women in spaces of opinion and decision-making in the media and public and private institutions, while also promoting a more diverse and more egalitarian representation. In this sense, the search engine for women experts will become a useful tool for all citizens and will incorporate women who carry out their professional, academic or activist activity in Catalonia and who meet the established inclusion criteria. Therefore, women interested in being part of the search engine for women experts must formalize their request through the generic processor of the Generalitat de Catalunya, filling in the application form and providing the corresponding documentation. The Catalan Institute for Women will then review the application and the women experts will become part of the search engine's database. The profiles of the women experts will then be displayed in an interactive viewer that will allow searching by name, profession, expertise, age or territory. The initiative recovers the idea of the first search engine for women experts, which was launched in 2006 in order to give visibility to the contributions of women, especially in those spaces where there had traditionally been no strong female presence.
