The Computer Vision Center of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona coordinates a new cycle of seven conferences on artificial intelligence and its impact on society. The informative talks are free and take place in four public libraries in Barcelona: Biblioteca El Clot - Josep Benet, Biblioteca Sagrada Família - Josep M. Ainaud de Lasarte, Biblioteca Camp de l'Arpa - Caterina Albert and Biblioteca Vila de Gràcia. The informative sessions, which are the result of the proposals put forward by the people participating in the meetings of the ExperimentAI program developed in several public libraries in the Catalan territory, are held on Mondays at 6.30 pm and are open to the public. The first session was last Monday, October 16, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca El Clot and offered an introduction to artificial intelligence by Jordi González, researcher at the Computer Vision Center and professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The second session was last Monday, October 23, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca Sagrada Família and addressed artificial intelligence and language models by Pilar Sánchez Gijón, academic secretary and vice dean of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
The third session will be next Monday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca Camp de l'Arpa and will focus on generative artificial intelligence and the art of the hand of Arturo Fuentes, predoctoral researcher at the Computer Vision Center and professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Alexandra Gómez Villa, predoctoral researcher at the Computer Vision Center. Then, the fourth session will be next Monday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca Vila de Gràcia and will talk about artificial intelligence and sustainability by Paolo Dini, researcher at the Telecommunications Technology Center of Catalonia Next, the fifth session will be next Monday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca Camp de l'Arpa and will focus on artificial intelligence and quantum computing by Matías Bilkis, researcher at Computer Vision Center. Next, the sixth session will be next Monday, November 20, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca El Clot and will talk about artificial intelligence and human mobility by Antonio Maria Lopez Peña, researcher at the Computer Vision Center and professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Finally, the seventh session of the cycle will be next Monday, November 27, at 6:30 p.m., at the Biblioteca Sagrada Família and will focus on artificial intelligence and public libraries by Elena Sánchez Nogales, responsible for Servei d’Innovació i Reutilització Digital de la Biblioteca Nacional.
