Hour of Code is a global movement, reaching tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries. Anyone, anywhere in the world can organize n Hour of Code: teachers in schools, extracurricular educators, local authorities, businesses, volunteers, families, etc. Today, there are over 120 thousand registered events, 866 of them in Spain.
The idea is to organize programming activities throughout the month of December, although many of the actions will focus on the week of December 5 to 11, since, celebrates the Computer Science Educational Week.
The initiative offers different resources for people who want to organize an activity. It offers an introductory video, tutorials of one hour and guides aimed at teachers, instructors, businesses... The tutorials are available in more than 30 languages and experience is not required to organize a meeting.
Hour of Code is organized by Code.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting participation in computer science in schools and colleges, with a focus on increasing the number of women and minority groups students learning to code.
