The Code4life college competition has been a programming challenge with two phases: a national one in each participating state and a global one.
In the national challenges, the students formed teams of three and tested their programming skills against other teams of students in their country. In Barcelona, it took place from 10 to 19 November and the teams had to program the artificial intelligence of the robot of a game. This consisted of obtaining a diagnosis of a patient and analyzing it correctly; According to the diagnosis, the teams developed and manufactured a medication to treat the disease.
The La Salle-URL team was in second place and accessed the following level: Code4life Global Challenge. In this challenge, the first two classifieds of the state competitions participated through videoconferencing. The students received a real case from Roche to solve it with the guidance and the tutoring of experts in the multinational: to schedule the visualization of the information of medical studies through a form and a chatbot.
Borja Pérez, Sergi Simó and Esteve Genovard were the winners of the final and in January 2018 they will visit the Roche headquarters in Basel (Switzerland), to present their project.
