What are the basic ingredients to create an Engaging Learning Environment - ELE to combat school disengagement and connect with students, many of whom are digital natives who are not attracted to teaching practices they feel hardly alien to the way?
Despite the good performance of their students, Finland, like other countries, is not immune to school disengagement, many of its students also "disconnected" from school and prefere personal life learning experiences and stimulating cooperation outside the school. This observation born a series of initiatives led by Professor Kirsti Lonka combining her knowledge of psychology, educational innovation and teacher training.
