This year, the Ateneu de Fabricació de Les Corts celebrates 10 years of life. In this context, last Friday 4 October, the space, which is located at Carrer d'Evarist Arnús, number 59, in the city of Barcelona, presented the exhibition 'Ten years of collective innovation: celebrating the Ateneo de Fabricació de Les Corts', which commemorates a decade of inspiration, creativity and collaboration with the territory and which will remain open to the public inside the Ateneo de Fabricació de Les Corts and the 'reading space of the Montserrat Abelló Library until next Wednesday, October 30. Today, we talk about it with Coral Vicent, coordinator of the Ateneo:
1. How are you celebrating your first 10 years of life?
Yes, we celebrate it with the exhibition 'Ten years of collective innovation: celebrating the Ateneu de Fabricació de Les Corts' which wants to show this journey of public equipment through the projects of the people who use it. We have made a historical retrospective and a chronology highlighting the most remarkable projects of these years, in other words, we want to see the evolution of these first ten years of life through the projects developed in space.
2. Also, have you prepared some exhibition facilities?
We have made some exhibition installations that show how the public equipment has changed over the years, such as, for example, a container where we have taken the opportunity to explain the indicators that give shape to the project.
3. What is a Manufacturing University?
It is a public facility that seeks to bring new technologies and specifically digital manufacturing machinery to citizens. It is a space for experimentation and creation that works in accordance with projects, that is to say, any person or any group with an interest or an idea can approach the public facility and we, from the Ateneo de Fabricació, we will accompany you in your design or digital manufacturing process.
4. What is your will?
Our goal is to accompany people in their empowerment of new technologies and digital manufacturing and at the same time materialize their ideas and respond to their needs and demands.
5. What is your distinguishing feature?
We are very happy with the network of people that has been created around the Ateneu de Fabricació. We have developed projects that have had a social impact, as well as fostering the exchange of knowledge and synergies. It is very nice to see how if the citizens come together, the emergence of great ideas is achieved and the materialization of transformative projects that give meaning to the existence of this public facility.
