The Cercle Tecnològic de Catalunya has presented the fifth edition of the Catalunya Impacta awards. The aim is to recognise benchmark initiatives that are committed to technology and providing an innovative response to both business and social challenges. In this sense, the Catalunya Impacta 2026 awards seek to highlight flagship cases of the implementation of real market innovation in essential economic sectors and central social sectors of the Catalan territory, demonstrate the transformative nature of technological innovation applied to various sectors, and inspire all organisations in these sectors to join in adopting innovative solutions. Thus, the Catalunya Impacta 2026 awards establish three categories of recognition for the best technological transformation initiatives from across the territory.

Firstly, the category 'the best transformation initiative in the primary sector' is proposed , where Catalan transformation initiatives are expected to demonstrate the technological application of smart and sustainable solutions and promote a more resilient and competitive primary sector, such as, for example, projects that allow for more efficient management of natural resources, that implement monitoring systems or that ensure traceability and transparency. Secondly, the category 'the best transformation initiative in the industrial sector' is proposed , where Catalan transformation initiatives are expected to demonstrate the technological application of smart and sustainable solutions and promote a more resilient and competitive industrial sector, such as, for example, projects that promote profound changes in industrial systems, from production automation systems and predictive maintenance of industrial assets to connectivity. Thirdly, the category 'the best transformation initiative in the goods and services sector' is offered , where Catalan transformation initiatives are expected that are demonstrating the technological application of intelligent and sustainable solutions and promoting a more resilient and competitive goods and services sector, such as, for example, projects that represent a qualitative leap in business models, from the optimization of the logistics chain to the improvement of the user experience, tourism promotion, leisure or entertainment.

In this line, the awards are aimed at non-technological organizations, but which use technology as a tool to promote significant transformations in society, with initiatives in operation. A professional jury formed by professionals with recognized careers will evaluate the submitted candidacies and will award the awards to the initiatives that represent a more relevant contribution of value. The contribution of value will be determined based on the documentation presented and considering the discursive power, transformative impact on positioning, and the operational power, improvement of performance, as well as other innovative elements such as the commitment to emerging technologies or the reduction of gaps will be assessed. The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 25, at 6 p.m., at the Modernista Complex of Sant Pau.
