Next Thursday, April 24, from 6 to 8 p.m., the International Day of Girls in ICT will be commemorated. In this context, the Canòdrom. L'Ateneu d'Innovació Digital i Democràtica. , located at Carrer de Concepción Arenal, number 165, in the city of Barcelona, will host the activity 'Programming dreams, breaking barriers'. Organized by the 'Code Club' project , the day will explore the opportunities offered by new technologies to girls, provide tools, resources and strategies to break down barriers and gender stereotypes and promote a more equitable and inclusive digital transformation.

The meeting will feature a talk featuring women representing various entities in the technology and digital sectors, such as Femdevs, Femcoders Club and other groups working for gender inclusion and equity. The conversation will address inequalities, discrimination and opportunities to reverse the gender gap within the digital and technology sectors, as well as becoming a space to share knowledge, experiences, projects and initiatives and talk about the future from a feminist perspective. The talk will be free to attend. At the same time, a programming taster with Scratch will be offered for girls aged 8 to 13. The workshop will offer the possibility of learning how to create exciting games, amazing animations and interactive stories. The educational proposal will delve into the foundations of block programming and exemplify how to use new technologies from a more creative perspective.
