In order to improve citizen service, the Generalitat de Catalunya has recently launched the figure of the digital agent. The new information agent provides face-to-face support to citizens at the self-service points of the citizen service offices, allowing simpler and more direct access to digital procedures. Currently, there are four digital agents in the Citizen Service Office of Terres de l'Ebre and the mobile office, the Citizen Service Office of Taulat of the Department of Social Rights in Barcelona and the Citizen Service Office of Vallès Occidental of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food in Sabadell. Throughout 2025, the Generalitat de Catalunya will incorporate new information agents in other citizen service offices in the territory.
The digital agent performs various functions such as, for example, providing support for in-person processing, guiding and advising on the completion of an electronic procedure such as the process of obtaining the idCAT Mòbil or accompanying the completion of an electronic procedure such as the application for the minimum vital income, the disability card or other cards related to different life situations of people.
