"Since 2019, we have been Punt TIC. Although we have been there for many years, this 2026 we celebrate the library's twentieth anniversary, we work to eradicate the digital divide. I still remember the first course we did on digital training, where we talked about how to move around Google. They were very simple courses where we explained to the participants how to practically hold a mouse. Not all of us were born knowing the digital world," explains Núria Ciller, facilitator of the Punt TIC at the Cervelló Municipal Library. "We are delighted to be Punt TIC and to make sure that residents achieve what they want in the digital world, that they find what they need in the digital world. We have people of all ages with different concerns," adds Ciller.
For example, the ICT Point of the Cervelló Municipal Library , located at Plaça de la Biblioteca, number 1, in the town of Cervelló, works on digital skills with older people through the 'Més Digitals' training proposals. "Today is the second session of the second edition of the 'Més Digitals' program. Like everyone else, I always have a mobile phone in my hand, it's like a little dog that follows me all day and everywhere, but it's true that everything I've done so far has been because I've discovered it in a self-taught way and there are things that I don't do well or that I don't dare to do. That's why I'm here, because I want to learn new things. Today, specifically, we talked about digital security, online shopping and the La Meva Salut application," says Ana Maria Malaret, a user of the ICT Point. Beyond hosting the 'More Digital' training proposals of the Secretariat of Digital Policies, the ICT Point of the Cervelló Municipal Library has delved into various issues such as, for example, around digital procedures, digital photography, digital manufacturing, idCAT Mòbil, ACTIC, digital literacy or training in the field of technology.
"The ICT Point of the Cervelló Municipal Library is key for residents to have freedom and confidence in the digital world. Users often arrive with fear and shame and leave happy and empowered. This is the great gift that we take with us to the ICT Point of the Cervelló Municipal Library, that people learn one day and the next day they are more autonomous and independent," concludes Ciller.
