Next Thursday, June 4, the Fem Bloc collective will officially present a report on digital sexist violence in childhood and adolescence. The event will be held online and will start at 6 p.m. Fem Bloc, a feminist organization specializing in gender, technologies and digital rights, will share the main results of the study, which reveals a raw and complex reality: minors identify the manipulations of digital platforms and power dynamics, but the response continues to be individual, that is, blocking, reporting or self-managing, families assume a structural problem as an individual and professionals act as volunteers without training and without time.
In this difficult context, the report summarizes the most frequent forms of digital violence in childhood and adolescence, the structural causes and effects on well-being, education and fundamental rights, as well as proposing recommendations and suggestions for the educational, family and institutional spheres and for digital platforms. Specifically, the Fem Bloc collective has carried out this diagnosis based on discussion groups with children, adolescents, families and professionals in the educational field. Specifically, nearly 150 people have participated with their experiences. In short, the research seeks to become a useful and profitable tool for decision-making in matters of digital protection of childhood and adolescence.
