MWC 2023: The 6G, Metavers and meeting of women entrepreneurs

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 will be held in Barcelona between February 27 and March 2 and expects nearly 80,000 visitors and 2,000 exhibitors. Know what you will find!

The challenges of 6G

For the user it will mean more bandwidth , that more devices can be connected with less latency, and that in the future it will even be plausible to forget about having fiber at home because 6G will offer connectivity of envelopes. However, for this to be possible, 6G will have to be linked to a change in the tariff supplied by the operators, which should be unlimited. MWC 2023 will also serve as a real meeting place between the major groups responsible for defining 6G standards, and one of the discussions is expected to focus on how to make this connectivity system environmentally friendly .

From metaverse to matterverse

The industry related to the metaverse will focus its efforts on a target audience that moves from the consumer person to the business fabric, which has led to the creation of a new keyword that the industry wants to make visible: matterverse . The word also refers to virtual or augmented reality, but linked to the physical fact and to companies. For example, sales in virtual reality have increased in the construction sector.

First meeting of women entrepreneurs

The Generalitat de Catalunya will organize an international meeting between 15 Catalan women entrepreneurs from the technological field and 15 women entrepreneurs from Arab countries in the framework of the Mobile World Congress , Liliana Arroyo , new director general of Digital Society of the Department of Business and Work , will lead the first meeting of Catalan and Arab women technological entrepreneurs at MWC 2023 to fight against the digital divide that affects many people in Catalonia, whether due to economic problems, training or even age.

The meeting will take place at 4YFN and will bring together technological entrepreneurs who work in similar fields. The businesswomen will hold a pitching session in front of the congress audience on March 2 at 11:15 a.m.

m4Social activities

The Table of Entities of the Third Social Sector of Catalonia, through the m4Social project and in collaboration with the European Social Network (ESN), carries out a program of activities at the Mobile World Congress on March 2 between 12 and 2 p.m. The aim is to publicize initiatives, both by social entities and public administrations, which want to reduce the digital gap, especially in access to social services, as well as improve people's care and well-being, in especially groups that are in a vulnerable situation.

The day has two international experiences on technology and social action to improve care for people with Christopher Wroath, Director of Digital Transformation at NHS Education for Scotland. Thomas Lyhne, consultant to Social og Boligstyrelsen in Denmark. The session will be moderated by Alfonso Lara Montero, executive director of the European Social Network.
