In the framework of International Women's Day, the Gender Equality Observatory , with the collaboration of the Department of Equality and Feminism of the Generalitat de Catalunya, has published a new edition of its infographic dossier 'Key data on women in Catalonia' which includes the latest results of the main indicators that make up the dimensions of the discrimination suffered by women in Catalonia. The objective of the research is to demonstrate in a synthetic and informative way that there is still a long way to go to achieve effective equality between men and women. In this sense, the indicators collected revolve around paid work, unpaid work, use of time, sexist violence, the rural area, the training area and the sports area. Some of the most relevant data from the research suggest that there are 42.8% of women in management or executive positions, 7.3% more than the previous year, and 53.3% of women in elementary occupations, 2.1% less than the previous year. The dossier also shows that the most feminized economic activities are healthcare, social services and education, while the most masculinized economic activities are construction, agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing. Likewise, with regard to unpaid work, there are 35.6% of women who are inactive due to caring for third parties, while there are 10.4% of men who are inactive due to caring for third parties. Finally, throughout 2025, eleven feminicides occurred, more than 15,000 calls were made through the sexist violence hotline and more than 13,000 follow-ups were carried out through intervention services.
