Within the framework of International Women's Day, the Punt Òmnia Santa Coloma de Gramenet , located at Plaça de les Cultures, number 6, in the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, organized an activity to give visibility to leading women. The objective was to find five women who would give names to the Punt TIC classrooms. After a deep collective reflection, the women chosen were: Valentina Tereshkova , the first woman to travel into space in 1963, becoming a symbol of the female presence in the aerospace field; Rosa Parks , a civil rights activist in the United States, known for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus, a gesture that was key in the fight against racial discrimination; Rigoberta Menchú , a Guatemalan indigenous leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, recognized for her defense of human rights and indigenous peoples; Clara Campoamor , politician, defender of women's rights and promoter of women's suffrage in the State during the Second Republic, and Malala Yousafzai , Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who has stood out for her fight for the right to education for girls.
Then, using 3D printing, the women participating in the activity designed identification plates to place as new signs in the classrooms. In addition, they placed a photograph and a brief biography of each woman next to them in order to bring their trajectories closer to all the people who visit the Punt Òmnia Santa Coloma de Gramenet and contribute to making visible women role models in the daily life of the Punt TIC.
