The Mobiles Social Congress (MSC) , organized by SETEM Catalunya, will once again claim sustainable and fair electronics. This year is its eighth edition in the Catalan capital at a time when all kinds of companies and industries also meet in search of the most cutting-edge innovations at the Mobile World Congress, at Fira Barcelona. It will bring together experts from around the world to address human and environmental rights violations in electronics value chains, especially in the extraction and production phases.
The motto of this year's program is 'We put technology at the service of life' . This #MSC23 seeks to address how to put technology at the service of life, understanding life as the well-being of people at both ends of the supply chain of production and consumption, and the balance needed to maintain the ecosystems that sustain biodiversity and human life on planet Earth. See the entire program here .
From February 27 to March 2 , the event proposes a hybrid model between theory and practice : on Thursday, March 2, round tables will be held at Pati Manning that will expose the violation of human and environmental rights that occur in supply chains of the technological sector, especially during extraction and manufacturing. A film forum will be held on Friday, March 3. On Saturday 4 March at the Convent of Sant Agustí there will be a repair workshop for small electronic devices, an 'Install Party ' for the installation of free software and an exhibition and children's games about responsible consumption.
The Mobile Social Congress is a space open to all citizens that offers a critical perspective on the current model of production and consumption of information and communication technologies, and an opportunity to learn about alternative models and projects based on technological sovereignty, the sustainability and social benefit.
