The Generalitat de Catalunya, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center present transformative initiatives within the framework of the event.

The new edition of the Mobile World Congress , the largest and most influential technology congress in the world, shook the city of Barcelona from 3 to 6 March. According to the organization, the Mobile World Congress 2025 closed the edition equaling the 109,000 visitors of the year 2019, when the historical record of the congress was broken. The world reference fair for the connectivity and mobile telephony sector brought together more than 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors and partners and more than 1,200 speakers distributed throughout the eight pavilions of the Fira Barcelona Gran Via. This year, the trend of recent years in which mobile telephony is giving way to other adjacent industries was confirmed, transforming the congress into a space dedicated to big businesses in the technology sector. The good figures for Mobile World Congress 2025 coincide with those of 4 Years From Now 2025, the congress dedicated to innovation, which this year welcomed more than 1,000 exhibiting start-ups, more than 300 speakers and more than 900 investors. Likewise, the Talent Arena 2025, which was held for the first time at the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, brought together more than 20,000 attendees.

Along these lines, within the framework of the Mobile World Congress 2025 and the 4 Years From Now 2025, several transformative initiatives related to digital social innovation and new technologies were presented. "At our stand, visitors to the Mobile World Congress 2025 can learn about the digital policy strategy that we are deploying in the territory. This year, the motto is Catalonia as the digital heart of Europe, because all the policies that we deploy in the territory are carried out from a humanist point of view, that is, always protecting the rights of citizens," explained Sandra Ruiz Peralta, general director of Digital Economy and Society of the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Generalitat de Catalunya . "Our stand has as its theme living technology. We give an approximation of what the new mobility and new logistics or renaturalized cities will be like. "We are making an approximation of what the training and components of this new digital society will be like to bring these new transformative technologies to the table," said Eduard Martín, innovation director of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation . "The BSC stand is an opportunity to learn about the technologies we develop. One of the key initiatives is the language fair, which allows us to learn about the language models that we have developed from the research center. All of them are free, everyone can use them, and transparent, everyone can know the data with which they have been trained," said Jaume Lozano, communications technician at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center .
