Next Friday, June 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the meeting will bring together women experts to talk about the role of data feminism, open data and artificial intelligence in stopping disinformation.
Under the title 'Data feminism versus disinformation in the age of artificial intelligence', the sixth International Data Feminism Conference will be held next Friday, June 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at La CIBA , located at Passeig de Llorenç Serra, number 64, in the town of Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The event will focus on how disinformation has become one of the main challenges of contemporary democracies and how, in the field of women's rights, this phenomenon contributes to denying inequalities, discrediting feminism, questioning public policies and reinforcing narratives that make women invisible or distort the reality of women. In this sense, the meeting will bring together women experts to talk about the role of data feminism, open data and responsible artificial intelligence as tools to combat disinformation and strengthen democratic quality. Specifically, throughout the sixth International Data Feminism Conference, which will feature an opening conference by María José Rementeria from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and three discussion panels with women experts, key issues will be addressed, such as, for example, the impact of disinformation on women's rights, the risks of artificial intelligence systems fed with biased data, the role of algorithms in digital polarization or the opportunities offered by digital tools, observatories and interactive visualizations for public debate. The event will be promoted by the Data Women team of the Barcelona Open Data Initiative, which works on the creation of digital tools based on open data in order to increase women's rights.
